NIAII - Metro 508
All the high technological standards you have come to expect from Wescan Systems Limited. The NIAII-Metro 508 Self Service kiosk is one of the first self service kiosks to offer ADA 508 (American Disability Act Section 508) compliant hardware.
This innovative 3 button design allows those persons with hearing, sight or appendage disabilities to interact with the kiosk in the same manner as a person without a disability. The grouping of buttons is arranged such that all audio functions are grouped to the left and application control are grouped to the right just below the display.
Hearing impaired persons have the ability to control the audio via the headphone jack and audio off/on button. Those that are sight impaired can navigate the screen with the use of a triangular button for movement through the application and the square button acts as an Enter key for making a choice. The application 'talks' the user through his available selections as it would be seen on the screen.
Due to the physical manufactured properties of some types of touch screens, prosthetic touches are not detected. People with prosthetics can easily use the same buttons for movement through the application.
